Hi My most used webname is Bloody, or Bloody_winged. I'm German and ff addict I'm reading and writing ff, though I read much more than I write XD My main fandoms are Gundam Wing and Fullmetal Alchemist (if that's of any interest *has no idea*). Also, I read mainly yaoi, even threesomes (and the occasional foursome) if it's done good. I'm looking forward to all these discussions ^___^

Hey Bloody, finally I'm not alone! You sound like a dedicated FF addict, I can tell your posts are going to be very helpful and interesting. That's a good idea. This thread should also allow us to get to know each other. I used to like Lord of the Rings but now I'm mainly into Stargate: Atlantis. I was heartbroken when they discontinued the series so now I mope around reading fanfics which express my pain, haha. We have a common heritage, Bloody. My family is German, although I speak the language very little. I also remember reading an article which stated that quite often non-English speaking fans were learning new languages in this way, encouraged by integration into a supportive fan community. Edit: Hey Sivan! You must have posted while I was writing my reply. It's great to see you again friend! Or I should really say, Mellon Nin!

Hello I definitely know I'm not the only german who does that. Before I ever even considered reading english ff, I've gotten to know many people in my previous fandoms that read english ff just as much as german ones. I always told them they are crazy - until I realized they are much better myself XD I've been reading ff for the last eleven years, though my taste in them has changed quite a bit since then. For the last eight years Gundam Wing has been my main fandom and two years ago Fullmetal Alchemist became a close second and has been ever since ^___^ Gundam Wing was also the fandom that finally managed to make me learn english about four years ago.

Hi! Well, I'm here since I'm a sucker for class projects..... I work in a community (two year or junior for the non-US audience) college and have worked in higher education all my life. So when you're doing a project like this I understand about getting some good information for your work. I also look for fellow ff addicts. I'm one of those 'computer people' as a day job and do ff as a hobby but one of our English/Composition instructors learned that I do writing as a hobby and I come speak to her class every semester on both writing for work as well as writing for fun.... I talk about ff but I have yet to have anyone really come back and ask what I write. I'm an Atlantis person also mourning at the moment. I might try my hand at NCIS next since that is something I do watch regularly and Gibbs and Dinozzo are hot! ::grin:: Hello and thanks for the invitation to chat!

Hi, I'm here from a Livejournal invite. :-) I have written fanfic in the past for Star Trek TOS. I love hurt/comfort with a passion. I love discussing fandom, fanfic, and h/c. It is basically just a hobby for me. I got interested in fandom and fanfic a couple years ago after discovering the online Star Trek fan base (which is huge!). My fandoms are (starting with current), Supernatural, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, Star Trek (all except ENT), Roswell, Remington Steele, M*A*S*H, MacGyver, Starsky and Hutch, Dark Angel, Buffy TVS, The Professionals, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and a ton more.
I love to read fic. I still do. :-) I love English. Um...I'm from the U.S. I am going to be a freshman in college in the fall. I love cats. :-) Ummmm...that's about it. :-D I'm glad to be here.

Hi all!!! I'm Erika or spacealpha. I'm from Brazil. I'm addicted to Stargate Atlantis. English has always been my hobby, and now I teach it as a profession too. I love reading and writing ff, but mostly h/c and I'm a huge Sheppard fan. xD I'm addicted to my fandom. I moderate two LFWS comms in LJ. For those who don't know, LFWS stands for Last Fic Writer Standing and is a fic challenge. It's for SGA only, though. You can check it out here: community.livejournal.com/sgahcchallenges . Right now I'm in the proccess of creating a sister comm to hold LFWS for gen fics as well. </shameless self-promotion> ^_^;;

Hi! I write fanfic for Stargate Atlantis, but read it from several fandoms. I had written some (bad) Star Wars fic back in college, before the internet and we had to make our own little 'zines if we wanted anyone to read what we had written. Thankfully, I have no copies of it left. Years and years later I discovered the SGA fandom and started writing again; I think I'm improving. I also have started icon-ing.
When I am not glued to the internet I read, cook, cross-stitch, crochet, play with my cats and dog, hang out with my family.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Hi everyone! In the fanfiction world I'm known as StarLight (or Star). I've been writing Lord of the Ring stories for about two years and a half, and I write and read mainly angst and h/c. English isn't my native language, I'm from Bulgaria, but writing in English a great way to give more h/c addicts access to your stories I know the forum administrator from The Estel Angst Central, a wonderful community she founded over two years ago. Happyshep, may I still call you ox?

Hi!
I may as well jump in. I post as MP brennan. I found this little project through the Owners of Aragorn Angst Yahoo Group. I write fic for Lord of the Rings (obviously) and also The Pretender and Battlestar Galactica.
I'm more of a gen writer--will ship only under duress. Angst is my favored genre, not strict hurt/comfort, but sometimes the two just overlap so nicely . . .

Hi,
I came here via your post on the sheppard_hc LJ community. My current fandom is Stargate Atlantis for which I have written both Gen and Slash fiction - and my favourite character is John Sheppard.
I am still active in some older fandoms like: The X-Files, Once a Thief, The A-Team, BSG(1978).

Hey there. I'm stabotage. I'm mostly a fanfiction lurker and commenter, and I haunt several places on Livejournal and fanfiction.net (although on FF I'm known as iggywaffle). I've never really gotten up the guts to post any fic of my own, but I frequently supply plot bunnies to other writers. I hang out in a multitude of fandoms, primarily including Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, NCIS, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sentinel and most recently Due South and the BBC series Merlin. I have other fandoms that I'm less active in -- Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes, The X-Files, Numb3rs, and Scrubs. Aside from television fandoms, I'm also into Transformers (the movie, shhh don't judge me >_>) and Live Free or Die Hard. Some of the aspects of H/C that interest me the most is that, at a first glance, it would seem that most hurt/comfort fans seem to have a specific character that they like to see whumped. For slash fans, or even just shippers in general, it also looks like there's a relationship dynamic that is actively sought after that seems to be achieved through the hurt/comfort venue. So, I mean, ultimately this is happyshep's decision, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing topics posted that would allow us to talk about our fandoms, the preferred characters that we like to see hurt and the relationship pairings (or OT3s or OT4s or-- *shot*) or the generic relationship (family or teammates, for example) they look for in fanfic. I think all of those topics are major factors in why we like hurt/comfort and what we read it for, so... Yeah. Um. Hi?

Hello! I arrived via LJ invite from the teenlit community. My penname on FF.net is Zelz Saihitei, and I've written fanfiction in the Harry Potter universe, focusing on Ginny/Hermione femmeslash with undertones of Draco/Harry.
I read mostly Harry Potter fanfiction, but I have dabbled in NANA, Sailor Moon (way back in the day), FLCL, and The Legend of Zelda.
I don't read very much fanfiction anymore and haven't written it in ages, but I was an active member on FF.net for over three years.
Currently, I'm in my third year of university pursuing an English degree; so I'm totally a sucker for helping out with class projects.

Hello! I'm Lockea, also known as LoLoChan on Livejournal. I'm here via the fiction_writers invite.
I'm a university student in America. I'm looking to get a degree in engineering (so obviously all my writing is for fun since I'm not even studying anything remotely related to writing). I've been writing anime and video game fanfiction for over seven years now, with short stints into original fiction here and there.
Currently I write primarily Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fanfiction. I've also written in older fandoms like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, and Legend of Zelda, as well as newer ones like Glass Fleet, Princess Tutu, Tales of Symphonia, and Fire Emblem (which didn't boom until four or so years ago).
I write pretty much nothing by h/c, since that's what I love to read. I'm very excited to see someone taking fanfiction seriously, as it's a wonderful way to build writing skills and explore genres.
